Of course, it is as everywhere else: "Many ways lead to Rome" and it also depends widely on what kind of song you actually want. The clearer you are about what you actually want the AI to create, the easier it will be to write instructions in your prompt to the AI.
Yes, it is not easy to know, where to start, but there is a solution!
Who can best tell an AI what to do? Another AI! - ideally, one with whom you can have a real conversation, a chat. You can gradually explain your wishes to them, and they'll then, in a logical and clear way, create a prompt for the Songer AI.
But enough of the theory, here I describe the way, how I proceeded today (and how I will continue) to create a song according to my ideas. I want to create a song for this website "so.mi.do - study music with more Fun".
So, what to do?
1) I open the website of chatGPT
I enter the following text as a request (that is, what they call a "prompt") to ChatGPT
"So Mi Do", so the title and also the URL of my website https://so.mi.do
The website offers Music Games and Music Apps not only for Fun, but also for studying music.
I would like to ask an AI to create a short and funny song for this website with the main theme "So Mi Do" as of the diatonic major scale in the solfège system.
So I need a prompt, what clearly explains and describe this.

Songer also faithfully adhered to the instructions to create a short song with just one verse and one chorus.

So, at this point, I gave up (don't worry, only for a while - I needed a break) as I realized that Songer AI doesn't understand, or isn't yet able, to follow the specific melodic instructions. Also I was not happy with the pronunciation; the "do" in "So Mi Do" is unfortunately sometimes pronounced wrong. There's still a lot to do here, and it would certainly take some additional time to implement my – perhaps too specific – ideas.
What I really appreciate (and why I always prefer to work with Songer AI) is, that all of this is possible free of charge and without restrictions (just create an account for free). You can have as many songs created as you like – over and over again – until you achieve the (almost?) perfect result.

After a short break, I created some more songs. I did not longer try to tell the AI to add "so mi do" as a motif, as it does not seem to be possible at this time.
Every trial, I changed my prompt slightly to get different results, mainly i changed "So Mi Do" to "So Mi Doh". After this, the pronunciation was always correct.

Yes, I would love to test and try out many other music AIs... but on the one side, it takes a lot of time, and on the other side, it would also cost a lot, since unfortunately, you can't test most AIs indefinitely, or at least in sufficient detail. Sometimes, there are only two(!) free trials, and after that, you should immediately pay a monthly fee – that's ridiculous (in my way of thinking)...
Yes, of course, I tested some more Music AIs already (I do this always, if I have time), but so many of them are not worth to write about... I will not publish, if I don't like the results...
